Travel South America;we leave behind the mystical citadel and continue our journey
As we leave the grounds of the eighth wonder of the world, Machu Picchu, in a total daze we make our way down on the bus, zig zagging our way all the way down to Aguas Calientes (the township of Machu Picchu), .Â
When we have settled in to our hotel, it’s time to go and find the hot springs where we can soak our weary legs, let’s use this time to reflect on what we have just achieved and seen, relaxing in the warmth of the water with the mountains surrounding us.
These memories will be with us for ever.
Aguas Calientes is a special place, we will find some great markets, curio shops, and restaurants, bars and nightclubs…do you think that we should go and have a night out and celebrate our achievements? I think we should…a bit of music to keep the body moving will be a good thing, I think!!!
The really interesting thing about where some of the restaurants are situated is that they are right on the railway track; we will be enjoying a delicious lunch and then along will come a train, puffing smoke, the train will be carrying goods, people, animals you name it…
In total contrast of the sounds of the train we will hear the sounds of local musicians playing for us whilst we are enjoying our lunch…Peru the land of contrasts, love it…
We are back into civilization; we have left nature, the majestic mountains, rivers, flora and the silence behind…and now ready for the next part of our adventure.
