Travel South America;our third day trekking in mystical surroundings…
Our second night camping, we are woken to a nice hot cup of tea and warm water to freshen up. Another glorious day ahead for us, even though it will be a shorter walk today it will be spectacular as we trek for about four hours through rain forests.
What diversity we have experienced, this part of the trail is situated on the left bank of the great sacred river – known as the Vilcamayo, which has been used for centuries. We will be trekking high up into the rain forest; looking at amazing ferns and orchids. We are truly in paradise today…
We will arrive at our campsite, after a fairly hard walk, so that we can rest for our BIG day tomorrow. We will use this time to reflect on what we have experienced and what we are about to see, the excitement is starting to build, a lifelong dream of seeing Machu Picchu is nearly a reality…
Can you believe that we have trekked for three days now on the same trail that the Incan Royalty walked, and we are going to what was once their citadel? Let’s close our eyes and really think about what it was like for them.
We can also wander down and sit by the stream, mediate, really become one with nature and we may even be able to see, feel and hear the sounds of the centuries gone by…what an experience, how blessed are we to be able to part of this amazing adventure.
So with excitement in our bellies let’s get to bed and really be fresh for our trek to Machu Picchu tomorrow…
Goodnight.
